Did you like Guns n' Roses?

Back in the 90's, when they conquered the world with their music and hairstyle, I didn't know much about them. I listened a few times to their songs, but I was more concentrated on what my sisters or brother were listening to: Dire Straits, Sting, Billy Joel, Police, U2, Bryan Adams. But I've always been attracted by the 'Guns n' Roses effect' because one of my school mates was mad about them. Back in 1992, when Guns n' Roses had everyone in the palm of their hands, I was only 13 years old and I was about to start the conservatory. 

Anyway, today is Axl Rose's birthday and he's turning 51. You can see on his face that the past 15 years or so haven't been good to him and that he spent most of his time fighting lawsuits or having trouble with ex-girlfriends, ex-band mates and with health issues (let's include botox in the list). Which is a pity.

Negli anni Novanta, quando la loro musica e le loro capigliature avevano conquistato il mondo, non li conoscevo granché. Avevo ascoltato alcune delle loro canzoni ma ero più concentrata sulla musica che ascoltavano le mie sorelle e mio fratello: Dire Straits, Sting, Billy Joel, Police, U2, Bryan Adams. Il cosiddetto 'effetto Guns n' Roses' però mi ha sempre attratta, anche perchè avevo un compagno di scuola che era pazzo di loro. Nel 1992, quando i Guns avevano il mondo nelle loro mani, io avevo solo 13 anni e stavo per iniziare il conservatorio. 

Oggi Axl Rose compie 51 anni. Dal suo viso si può vedere come gli ultimi 15 anni siano stati distruttivi per lui, anni trascorsi a combattere cause in tribunale, ex ragazze inviperite, ex compagni di band e aggiungendo qualche problema di salute (mettiamoci dentro pure un po' di botox). Che è un peccato.

Alcune delle loro canzoni sono ormai fisse nelle nostre teste, questa è la mia preferita, tutta per voi!
